I headed down to a creek bottom about 150 yards from a swamp. Acorns were dropping like crazy and the activity wasn't what I had expected. At 8:30 I looked up and 40 yards away was this body of a deer standing there feeding. He went back to feeding and then took a few steps closer where he started to exit into a thick area. I had a pie-plate window of opportunity at 35 yards where I was able to draw, stop him and drive a good Muzzy MX-3 down range. Nothing beats it like a good deer on an opening day.
