Halloween night 2007. I seen this buck the night before in an area that had no tree stands. The following night (Halloween) I got out of work, raced home, went to the area picked a spot on the ground and sat on my tripod seat, I was sitting on a fence row over looking a cut wheat field next to a corn field (1730). Resting the cam of my AR-34 on my boot so as to minimize my movement. I wasn't in my spot more than 30 minutes before I had activity. A doe and A fawn stepped out into the wheat field looked right at me, flicked their tails as if they saw me. They worked their way across toward the corn field when a nice buck stepped out of the corn ran right to them. The does not wanting anything to do with him ran off. That's when I hit my "long can" . He turned and ran right to me. 100 yards I lift my bow. 50 yards I pull back 20 yards he see's me. Turning to get out of there I let him have it . One blade clipped the bottom of his heart.
