It was a cool sunny morning and I was sitting in a ground blind with my girlfriend. A couple toms came out of the timber line into a pasture. The birds hung out around 40 yards for 5 or 10 minutes. They seemed like they were getting nervous so I drew back my High Country Max Xtreme bow, and let my Gold Tip Expedition Hunter arrow tipped with a 3 blade 100 grain Muzzy fly. The arrow hit its mark and almost passed through the tom turkey. The turkey jumped a little bit and ran back a few steps then ran to his right about 5 yards and fell over. This was my first kill with a bow, not to mention the first turkey I have ever harvested. My girlfriend and I did not have a camera in the field so we brought the bird back to the house and took pictures in the driveway.
Thanks Muzzy (Bad to the Bone!!)
