Galen Shinkle

Galen Shinkle is one of the finest shots in the archery and hunting world today. From when he first picked up a bow at the age of 30, Galen taught himself to shoot. Six weeks later, he won the Florida State Championship. Galen’s self-made talent has earned a name not only as a marksman, but as a trick shot artist as well. His incredible skills and accomplishments with both longbow and compound bow, have rightfully given him the title of “The Modern Day Robin Hood.” Galen has earned this title by shooting from behind his back while lying on his back, and on his stomach and by “Robin Hood-ing” over 65 sets of arrows, splitting one arrow down the center after another. Galen is also featured in “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not” as a trick shooter. In 1989, he shot 10 Bull’s- eyes on 6 inch disk while suspended upside-down, swinging like a pendulum from Joe Ponder’s teeth; and all in 60 seconds. Performances of his talent have dazzled crowds of thousands at shows such as the Georgia Wildlife Federation Buck-A-Rama.
