Woody grew up in eastern North Carolina on Topsail Island. He started offshore fishing and diving as a young adult where he fell in love with the outdoors. He then started hunting big game later in life.
Woody credits most of his early hunting experience from being a member of various hunting clubs where got to experience dog hunting and still-hunting. However, he migrated to still hunting because of the enjoyment he got out of viewing and filming the wildlife in their habitat.Woody is also an avid Archery Hunter. He loves chasing whitetail in the fall, ducks in the winter on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. But his true passion is spring turkey season, where there is just something about those spring gobbles.
The next great chapter of Woody’s life started several years ago when he meet the guys from Backwoods life at Midwest Whitetail Adventures. After several conversations, Woodybecame good friendswith Michael and Kevin. Later, Woody became a part of their Boneheads crew and in 2011, had the opportunity to invest in the show and become a co-host where he is living a dream.
Woody is also currently employed as the EMS Director for Pender County EMS and Rescue Inc., were he has been employed since graduating high school in 1985.
“I have been blessed to be part of such a great show and to be able to touch be touched by so many people in the hunting community. I enjoy sharing my hunting experiences though our television show.”
